WALLOP!

Between April and June 2007 I produced a series of portraits of staff at the School of Army Aviation, Middle Wallop, Hampshire.

The idea was to show the great number of people as well as the diversity of their jobs that is required to keep the school running. The jobs ranged from cleaners to flying instructors, and also included roles that wouldn’t normally be associated with an Army base, i.e. Graphic Designers and Gardeners. Where-ever possible the subjects were photographed in their working environments.

It was a very tough project to complete. I had to work around the people I was photographing and I could very rarely spend more than half an hour on each portrait, in fact the average time was about 10 minutes.
